WE ARE LOOKING FOR TUTORS!
Requirements:
- Live in IL or TX
- Have at least 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience
- Have a college degree or be enrolled in college
- Participate (unpaid) online in: 2-hour roundtable on “Teaching Metacognition, Executive Functions, and Interpersonal Skills”, 8-hour asynchronous course and 1-hour roundtable on “Culturally Responsive and Trauma Informed Teaching”, and 1.5-hour onboarding meeting
Tutors Need Experience in 3+ Subject Areas:
- Elementary school: math, ELAR, science, social studies
- Middle school: math (through algebra), ELAR, life/earth/physical sciences, history, high school placement test prep (ISEE/HSPT/SEHS/STAAR)
- High school: math (through calculus), ELA, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, history, AP & ACT/SAT test prep, college planning, college applications
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Commit to a minimum of 1.5 hours per week for the 4-month Term (Fall Term: October-January, Spring Term: February-May, or Summer Term: June-September)
- Advocate for our nonprofit, spreading awareness and inspiring interest
- Enter tutoring schedule and lesson notes in a timely manner
- Communicate expectations, plans, and progress with your students and their families
- Utilize tutoring best practices during the every lesson
We rely solely on donations, so VOLUNTEER tutors are greatly appreciated!
Otherwise the hourly pay ranges from $30-40/hour depending on the student’s grade level.

Our Mission is to minimize the disproportionate learning losses for low-income students to provide economic, social, and emotional stability for the youth served, their families, and their community.
